5 Tips for Holiday Entertaining

One of my favorite things about the holidays is the excuse to invite people over. Sometimes entertaining can be stressful because there is so much to do. Here’s a few tips I thought of to make your holiday entertaining a little less stressful.

1-Make a party plan. When I plan to have an event of any kind the very first thing I do is make an outline of the activities, menu, guests, etc. This will ensure that you think of every last detail so you don’t forget anything or anyone!

2-Variety, Variety, Variety. Every party has guests with different tastes, ages and preferences and a little variety will keep everyone happy. Choose foods, drinks and activities that will satisfy the vegetarian or the meat eater, the adult or the child, the shy or the outgoing.

3-Think about seating arrangements. You don’t want Aunt Martha next to Uncle Billy if they haven’t spoken in twenty years. Arranging your guests ahead of time will keep conversation lively and prevent awkward exchanges.

4-Have the food ready on time. Bringing all of your dishes together and having them hot and ready is one of the biggest challenges of entertaining. This is especially hard when you only have one oven like I do. A great solution to help solve this problem is the Breville Smart Oven, which can heat your food super fast and fits right on your countertop.

5-You’ve done all the prep work, now RELAX! You are always a better host when you are not running around frantic, so take a breath, smile and enjoy yourself.
