A Golden Baby Blanket

This week I am so excited to share some really fun ideas for Baby Showers. You will find gift ideas, shower ideas and tutorials!

I wanted to let you in on an awesome discovery I found (well, it was awesome for me!). I was shopping one day and found some Gold Bias Tape that I knew I could use as a quilt binding and that is exactly what I did.  One of my favorite gifts to make for my close friends and family are baby quilts. There is something so fun about picking out the perfect combination of fabrics to make something special that they can snuggle their new baby with.

The Michael Miller Glitz line was the inspiration for this quilt. The yummy gold accented fabric is SO great. I love it…here’s a pic of  the finished product that my friend took (whoops, I didn’t get a full shot!):

You can see…I don’t do perfect quilts. The edges don’t all meet and some of the lines are crooked…but is it bad if I love it this way. My friend will know that I love her in my own imperfect  (and golden 🙂 ) way..and that is good enough for me!

I used Wrights Double Fold Gold Bias Tape to bind the quilt. It is so gorgeous and shiny and amazingly simple to use!I found mine at Hobby Lobby, but you can also grab it on Amazon.

What is your GO-TO gift at baby showers?

Hope this stirs some ideas in your head! Come back tomorrow for an ENORMOUSLY FUN and EXCITING post! (Seriously, you won’t want to miss this one!)
