Well, it’s time again for another project in the Cricut Design Space Star Contest. This month we are all sharing ideas for Home Decor and Gifts for the Holidays. Check back throughout next week to see more ideas!

One of my favorite things to make are pillows. I LOVE to change them up for new seasons and for the holidays. With Thanksgiving coming up next month, I thought I’d make a quick pillow to help remind my family the reason for the season.

I could not believe HOW EASY it was to make the pillow once I had the design figured out! I won’t lie, it wasn’t easy to figure out how to get the leaf wreath just right for Cricut Design Space, BUT do you know the lovely thing? Now that I have it figured out…YOU DON”T HAVE TO! ;)

I cut the design out on the Iron On Vinyl and it looks PERFECT! It makes me so happy to walk by it and see it.

All it takes to make this pillow is:

-fabric for the pillow

-a pillow to cover

-iron on vinyl

and

-a cricut explore!

To make the pillow cover:

1-Measure your pillow and give yourself 3/4″ more around the sides (for sewing)

2-Sew around 3 sides, with fabric being right side in.

3-clip the corners and turn it right side out.

4-Iron on your design according to the directions. I watched these videos before doing it the first time.

5-Place pillow in the cover and pin it closed.

6-Whip stitch the bottom closed with thread the same color as the fabric.

7-Put that pillow on your couch…you are DONE!

There are so many fun things that can decorate your home for the holidays, and for me, bringing in bright, graphic and warm pillows really makes my house feel like a home!

Gratitude Wreath Printable {Thanksgiving Decor}

Well, it’s time again for another project in the Cricut Design Space Star Contest. This month we are all sharing ideas for Home Decor and Gifts for the Holidays. Check back throughout next week to see more ideas!

As I was thinking of the upcoming holidays, I wanted to make a little print for one of my favorites, Thanksgiving, which is often so overlooked being in between Halloween and Christmas. I LOVE so much the opportunity to remember the great blessings in my life, so I thought having a little decor to match my sentiments would be perfect!

I cannot tell you how impressive the new Print and Cut feature on the Cricut Explore is. My new best friend. Seriously it is that great. I designed the print and knew I wanted the wreath cut out to put on a different background.

It is as simple as turning it into a photo file (which I found to be the easiest way), uploading it and printing. After printing it is simply putting it on your cutting mat, and it cuts right away. Check the machine out working on my  print (and no making fun..I was trying to show you how clean cut the image was after but I was videoing and holding the camera and it just wasn’t working!) :

After taking the cut out wreath off the mat, I simply added a few dimensional squares (to make it pop off the page):

and then put it into a frame. Don’t you love that glitter background? I am so impressed with this new feature and have ideas swirling around in my head all over. Can’t wait to share some of them with you!

I love this print and love that it sits displayed in my home reminding everyone who walks in to have a little more gratitude in their life.

Halloween Leaf Wreath {free printable}

I cannot tell you enough how much I love Halloween. BUT I do not love scary Halloween. So in my house we do a literal HAPPY Halloween from the decorations to the costumes and everything in between.

This year, I thought I’d add a bit of a graphic punch to my decor and make a fun leaf wreath. I have made a few of these for different occasions on my blog, but didn’t have one for Halloween!

Isn’t it SO fun?!

So let’s get down to making it!

SUPPLIES

*free printables // Grab the freebies by clicking HERE

*wreath form

*fabric

*hot glue

INSTRUCTIONS

1-Print and cut out the leaves. In all of the wreaths I have made, I always print 2 sheets of each leaf and have plenty (1 isn’t quite enough).

2-After cutting out your leaves, fold the bottom half of each leaf…this will give it dimension as you start gluing. (see pic)

3- Prepare your wreath form by wrapping it in fabric. I just used hot glue at each of the ends to secure it to the form. I actually use about 2″ strips to do this, just to make wrapping quick and easy!

4-Now start gluing. This is where your wreath will truly become yours! Use all one color, mix and match, the choice is yours! Overlap each line of leaves until you have completed the wreath. I started mine by gluing 4-5 in a straight line, but found as I kept going, it worked great when everything wasn’t perfectly lined up! When you glue, just add a dab of glue to the bottom of the leaf (where it is folded) and add. This makes it easy at the end when you are joining the leaves where you are ending and where you started. You can tuck a few extra leaves wherever you feel like you need more. This really is a wreath that you can make all your own. Isn’t it so fun?!

Get a bunch of friends together and make this for a craft night…it is an easy one to talk and gab while you make!

Go HERE to grab this “Happy Halloween” garland as well:

It comes in 2 sizes (see pic) and is just the perfect accent to any little nook you want to decorate in your house!

I hope you have the Happiest HAPPY Halloween around.
