The Gospel is not weight. It is wings! {free printable} General Conference April 2014

This week I have been sharing freebies from General Conference last weekend. To finish off this week, I will be sharing another great talk by Jean A. Stevens, who is in the General Primary Presidency. In her talk “Fear Not; I am with Thee”, she talks of the power of prayer and the power of living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am SO grateful that the gospel is simple and easy to understand. I have felt the power and peace that come from keeping the commandments of God and have felt the loneliness and despair from not. (I prefer the power and peace.) :) I LOVE this quote so much:

When I say that the Gospel of Jesus Christ carries me I really do mean that my faith has carried me through the ups and downs of life. The promises that the scriptures spell out again and again that when we choose to live a life according to the commandments of God, He blesses us. I was so grateful for this reminder this last weekend.

I made this print in 3 colors to give you a little variety…

There are no true endings, only everlasting beginnings {free printable} General Conference April 2014

A few days ago, I shared another printable from Dieter F. Uchtdorf’s talk. Today is a second one that really had an impact on me:

I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this time of year that I have to remember the sacrifice that our Savior made for each of us. Because He suffered in Gethsemane and was crucified on the cross and willingly did that for me (and for you!), this statement that Elder Uchtdorf said is perfectly true.  As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I also believe that through priesthood authority and by making promises in the temple, that I can be with my family for eternity. When I was married almost 12 years ago, my husband and I were sealed for eternity, not just until death do us part…and those promises have had a sweet effect on our relationship. Death is something that will come to each of us, regardless of what we do in this life, but because of the gift of our Savior, death is not a stopping point, but merely a progression from this life to the next.

I am so grateful for the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are sweet and simple. They are fulfilling to the soul. They help remind me of the purpose of this life and make me want to be just a bit better each day!

There is no UP or DOWN in the Gospel {free printable} General Conference April 2014

Another favorite talk of mine from General Conference came from Dallin H. Oaks, who spoke in the priesthood session. Such a powerful talk about the power of the priesthood, the authority of the priesthood and the keys of the priesthood. With some controversy right now going on with a small group of women wanting the priesthood, it was a great reminder and lesson on how the priesthood works. There is another quote or two coming with this talk as well, so today I will talk for just a minute about the quote below:

There are so many people who believe that with certain callings comes prestige and power. I can tell you that there is nothing farther from the truth. The bishop and the Relief Society teacher are both needed to see a ward function properly and smoothly. The same goes for a scout leader, nursery leader and Elders Quorum President. One of my favorite things about the gospel is that there is a season for everything. When we LIVE and MAGNIFY whatever calling we are given, we are moving along the horizontal path that Elder Oaks talked about..we are moving forward or backward, not up and down according to our callings, but I think we can also look at this in our life circumstances as well. Everything we do, every decision that we make is moving us forward or backward. What are the things you are doing that can be changed to propel your life forward?
