This week I am so excited to bring you some of my favorite quotes from last week’s general conference. For those of you who don’t know, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Two times a year we get an opportunity to listen to the prophet and apostles who speak on a variety of topics. Each conference is so different, but there is never a time I don’t come away feeling uplifted and a greater desire in my heart to go and BE better. Each day this week, I will bring you one of my favorite quotes..(thanks to all of you who gave me YOUR favorite quotes via facebook!)
I am starting off the week with a quote from L. Whitney Clayton’s talk entitled “Marriage:Watch and Learn”.
I don’t know about you, but being married is one of the greatest blessings in my life. It is so amazing to go through life with my best friend at my side. He helps me to be a better someone I couldn’t be by myself, and I hope it works the other way as well.:) Life is not all bliss and cotton candy…life is hard and marriage is hard. It is work to consistently make our marriage a good one, but it is a work that is worth it.
And I agree with his quote 100%:
It is one thing to be married. It is quite another to make it a good one. The talk has so many great points in it for any and everyone.
Now I know everyone is not a Mormon, so I wanted to make the print Christian friendly. The ones above, do have temples on them, but I think this statement is an amazing one to follow regardless of the faith we belong to, so I also made them without them.
God loves each of us so much. One of the gifts He gave us is that of marriage..a relationship where we are learning to be selfless, patient, forgiving, loyal, faithful and so many more things. It is such a good thing..and I love the thought that as we are working on all of these things TOGETHER, we are also working on giving a gift back to Him who has given us all.
