Cutest little baby Elsa ever, right?!
Along with my DIY Elsa Dress {Baby Edition}, I’m sharing 88+ more really awesome handmade costume ideas from talented bloggers everywhere!
So let’s get started. How cute is this dress?!
This dress came together so quickly for me, so I can’t wait to share with you how I created it.
SUPPLIES
*white baby dress (I found my at Goodwill..see pic below)
*1 yard sparkly and sheer white fabric
*RIT dye
*metallic paint
*sew on velcro
*beads
*thread
DIRECTIONS:
*Pick up a white dress for your baby. If you have an old one, use it. I picked mine up at Goodwill for just a few dollars. This one was so cute!
2-Using Rit dye, dye the dress the color you want. (I used the turquoise color they had)
3-(This step is optional depending on what kind of dress you bought) Cut off belt sides and I used these to sew on top of the flowers that were on the waistband (I wanted this super simple). I also used the straps to make a bow.
4-Lightly draw a snowflake pattern on middle of waistband. Sew beads on to make snowflake.
5-Make the cape. The cape is made by first painting the snowflakes on it using a paintbrush. (You can even buy a sheer fabric with snowflakes on it so you can skip this step too)
7-Sew Cape by ruffling the top, folding it over once and then sewing it again. Make sure to finish all sides. I cut mine so my daughter wouldn’t trip over it..you can make your cape as long or short as you would like.
8-Using two 3″ pieces of velcro, sew on to either side of the back zipper. Add velcro the sides of your cape as well.(see pic)
Once cape is done. YOU ARE DONE!It really is just the sweetest dress. It’s perfect for the fall. You can add long or short sleeves with it.
And there you have it. A perfect little Frozen Elsa dress for your smallest princess!
