Today I wanted to show you a quick and cute gift you can gift to the mother at a baby shower. We all know that cute clothes, diapers, wipes, blankets, etc. are so fun to recieve at showers. As I thought about my sweet friend (and my experiences as a mother of a newborn), I thought of those times in those first few months when sleep is little and your responsibilities are at times overwhelming. For me, reading a sweet reminder about how important the job I am doing really is, is just the ticket to get me out of a sleepy funk for a bit. With that in mind, I sent out little cards with the invitation instructing each attendee to write down an inspirational thought or quote to help our friend out in those first few months (and maybe for later when they become teenagers!):) I doodled the front of the book:
and then simply added the quotes with washi tape:
There were funny ones, serious ones, but inspiring was the overall theme:

Being a mom is one of the GREATEST gifts I have ever been given. It is wonderful, exciting, fun and love-filled, but it is also hard, heart-breaking, challenging and tiring and so I hope that this book has brought a smile to my friends face a few times over the last few months.
