I have lived in so many types of homes in my 10 years of marraige. We have been in apartments with a small balcony, homes with large yards and homes with small yards. No matter how big our home, the backyard has always been a place for my family to make memories, regardless of how big the space has been. As I was remembering some of my favorite activities we have done in our backyard, these few stood out:
A few years ago, my boys wanted and had been begging for a house to be able to play in, so my husband and I made a cute little house for them and they were in heaven. So many fun memories are linked to this house:
Not too long ago, we lived in an apartment with a 6’x8′ porch on the back. It was the smallest little porch, but my small kids sure made the most of it. One day I came out to them putting on their own Sea World show and had to grab my camera. I sat along the other 100 animals and cars that sat patiently watching their show (yes, each of those buckets and bowls are filled with water) and gave them a much deserved standing ovation at the conclusion:
And even now, in the small backyard we have, one of our favorite things to do is to share dinner in the backyard together in the fall and spring. Dinner is always a fun way to reconnect and share the happenings of the day. I’m sure most of you can relate to how crazy it can get before dinner, so I came up with a little solution to make it go a little smoother.
