Well, this post couldn’t have come at a better time. Soooo, we just bought a house!! What! I know, we have been renting here in Las Vegas now for 4 years. We haven’t wanted to make ourselves too permanent, but as we can now see ourselves here for the next few years, we wanted to put down a few roots and just bought a house. Let’s just say we have quite a bit of work to do to get it ready to move into (in not a lot of time!) and there are a lot of things on our mind. One is a home warranty.
As you may or may not know, homeowner’s insurance doesn’t cover all of the mishaps and emergencies that could come up in our new home. AND especially after putting a bunch of money into the home at first, I want to make sure that I’m not caught having to make other major purchases and repairs.
I looked forward to looking into Total Protect Home Warranty and was pleased with what I found. First of all, let’s just say that I usually have my husband look into all of these and then tell me about all of them, but I was grateful for how easy it was to navigate and find my way around their site.
Some of my favorite things about Total Protect Home Warranty:
1- I LOVE that it is affordable.Buying a house is PRICEY. I love that they have different options so I can choose what I want protected. Want just my appliances covered, great! Want my appliances and systems (a/c, heating, plumbing and electrical) covered, great! Sometimes I feel cheated by companies who lump everything together and you HAVE to pay for everything. I was happy to note here that I didn’t.
2-I love that they have 40,000 service professionals working for them all over the country. That’s a LOT of people. That means chances are I won’t have to wait long. (I have had some CRAZY experiences renting here in Las Vegas and can say I have had to wait out long days without electricity (hello, refrigerator and a/c) waiting for technicians to come from other warranty companies).
3-They seem SUPER reliable. How do I know? They guarantee their work for 180 days…that’s 3 times longer than most warranty companies. If someone will guarantee their work for that long, it gives me comfort knowing things will get done right the first time.
4- Last, I love that they educate you and give you plenty of information on how you can maintain your home and appliances in hopes you won’t have to use your warranty so much! They have some fun and useful infographics you can check out too that have some great tips:
After looking at Total Protect, I feel more relaxed knowing that I can go into home ownership and not feel so overwhelmed about the possibilities of so much going wrong, but can rest assured that things can be covered with the right plans out there!
