I don’t know about you, but let me tell you a little about my dinnertime. 5 pm is the witching hour in my home. My kiddos are hungry and worked up. I have my 11, 9 and 6 year old running around, usually wrestling. My 3 year old is begging for food every 2 minutes and my 1 year old just wants to be held. It is chaos. And not in a good way. All I need is a few minutes to finish up dinner and get it all on the table for when my husband gets home and we can enjoy a family dinner.
Can you relate?
Well, today I have just the thing for you…
These Dinnertime Doodle Placemats are a perfect distraction activity to get you through those last few minutes before dinner. All you have to do is simply print and laminate and you are done! I got mine printed and laminated at FedEx Kinko’s for super cheap. Add in just a few dry erase markers and you are good to go! These files are for 11×17 placemats. Let’s go through them and see what your kiddos can do!
First there is a tic-tac-toe board. Let your kids play some games before dinner without killing each other!
Let your kiddo write down a few things they liked (and didn’t like) from the day:
This mat can teach kiddos how to properly set a table and even has room for a name.
For those kiddos who can’t write yet, let them draw out their day!
I hope you enjoy these placemats. Use them! Make those last few crazy minutes before dinner not so chaotic!
