Hello Night Relief Society Meeting + Fun Group Game Ideas!

So a few months ago, I Instagrammed a pic of what I was working on for my calling at church. (We all volunteer and accept to do jobs for free at church) I got a lot of feedback in wanting to have some ideas for Relief Society Meetings, so I thought I would share what we have done! Before I begin, I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Within the church, I am part of the Relief Society which is the world’s largest women’s organization in the world where we meet together weekly to study, serve,  uplift and share with one another. One time a month, we have an activity together that is meant to strengthen our relationships with Christ, but also with each other. I am the head of the Meetings Committee…which is the monthly meeting. If you have any questions at the end of the post, ask away. I shared all of this in case you don’t know how the church I belong to runs!

In July, we wanted to have a HELLO night where everyone could get to know one another better. We gave out a sweet and simple invitation (free at end of post) and hoped everyone would show up..and they did. We had a fun night of games and laughs!

When the ladies walked in, we had them fill out a sheet all about themselves. The trick was to write about your life in numbers (2 kids, 1 husband, lived in 6 cities, etc) and then rolled it up and put it in a balloon. The balloons were placed in the middle of the circle.

hello night

Then we started with a fun ice breaker game:

This game was so fun to play. We took a big ball and wrote all kinds of questions to answer. We tossed the ball in the circle and whoever caught it had to answer the question that was on their left thumb! (You could make this anything you want).  Here are the questions we used:

Favorite Holiday?

What would you do with your 15 minutes of fame?

If you had a yacht, what would you name it?

Favorite Restaurant?

What was your first job?

Least favorite food?

Cats or Dogs?

Favorite Snack?

Least Favorite Chore?

Sweet or Salty?

Favorite Type of Food?

Favorite Fruit?

Morning Person or Night Owl?

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

List 3 words that describe yourself.

Favorite Subject?

If you could invite 3 famous people to dinner, who would you invite?

How do you like to relax?

What is your favorite movie?

What was your first car?

Favorite Book?

Do you collect anything?

Who was your first famous person crush?

Did you have any pets?

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

What is a signature dish that you cook?

When I dance I look like…?

Any weird talents?

Have you ever met a celebrity?

What is your guilty pleasure?

Favorite Ice Cream flavor?

What is one of your greatest achievements?

Describe the perfect sandwich.

You guys! It was such a perfect first game to play. This would be a fun family reunion game, group game of any kind or just fun to play with your family!

Next, we took turns popping one balloon in the center of the circle…that person would read it and then we would all guess who it was. Then that person would come up, pop a balloon and so on…Another really fun game. We ended with treats and talking and no one wanted to leave…it really was a fun activity where I came away really knowing people better!

I hope you found a little inspiration from this activity and can take some ideas and use them in your own way!
