Happy April! Can you believe this month has come to an end and we are headed into May next week?! Mother’s Day is right around the corner and these easy Mother’s Day mugs are perfect for the tea/coffee/hot chocolate drinking mother in your life. They are even easier to make with Expressions Vinyl.
I tried to think of some personalized gifts, but wanted to help you make them too, so I have one you can add to and 2 that you can just make right away!
First up is this cup with the saying “Sooner or later we all quote our mothers”…I find myself constantly saying things my mom always said to me growing up. Most of the time it just makes me giggle and it always makes me grateful for her.
The surprise comes on the back where I added a bunch of sayings that I have found myself saying because I heard it from my mom. haha. I bet you can think of a bunch to put on your cup too!
These cups are simple to make and you can keep them as a drinking cup or put some floral foam in one and make some felt flowers to go in it!
SUPPLIES
- Free cut files at end of the post
- Cricut Explore Air 2 or any cutting machine
- permanent vinyl from Expressions Vinyl (I used mint, golden and black Oracal 651 vinyl)
- vinyl weeder
- transfer tape ( I use Expressions Vinyl gridline clear vinyl transfer tape)
- cup (I got mine from a dollar store)
DIRECTIONS
1- Cut out designs in 3 colors.
2-Use weeding tool and weed out your design.
3- Using transfer tape, adhere it to the black vinyl and peel off the back.
4- Next put the yellow shape behind the word “quote” and peel off the back
5-Now add your mint details and peel off the backing.
6- Take cup and gently start from middle to add design to cup and smooth outward and upward.
7- As soon as the design is adhered, peel transfer tape off and you are done!
8- Fill with flowers, candy or her favorite things and wrap in cellophane. Tie with a ribbon and it is ready to give.
