I am super excited to be a part of Vinyl Palooza hosted by A Girl and A Glue Gun and sponsored by Expressions Vinyl.
Do you ever have a project you have in your head and you just need to get it onto a pillow? As a graphic designer, I have a ton of prints that I just want to get onto decor and in my house! This happened when this opportunity came up for Vinyl Palooza. It was a match made in heaven! I grabbed a ton of new colors from Expressions Vinyl. Seriously, their site is packed with so much vinyl (it literally took me 2 hours to shop and pare down what I wanted needed for this project. This was the print that got my wheels turning.
You can grab this free 8×10 print by clicking here.
Using the Heat Transfer Vinyl and my cute little Silhouette Portrait, I cut out the design.  Then factored in lots of patience as I had to lay this out 12 times before I figured out something I liked. 😉
The Heat Transfer Vinyl worked so great. I did figure out that you really have to let the iron press hard down and stay on it for quite awhile before it sticks well. After that, you don’t have to worry about it a bit! Â The pillow almost looks painted…it is gorgeous! I love that you can design anything you want or just use a premade design to make any pillow you are envisioning.
After getting the design all ironed on, I simply made a pillow by sewing a coordinating fabric on the back and filled with polyester fiberfill.
I love adding a bit of spring in my home (even if it feels like summer!). It’s bright and happy and has the sweet message of hope.
I’d LOVE to hear what you have made with vinyl lately!
